FIRST STAR -- BRIAN ELLIOTT, G, SENATORS
Elliott won each of his four starts last week, posting a 1.25 goals-against average and .957 save percentage, as the Senators (28-21-4) climbed to fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
SECOND STAR -- CRAIG ANDERSON, G, AVALANCHE
Anderson went 3-0-0 with a 0.33 goals-against average, .988 save percentage and two shutouts, helping the Avalanche (30-15-6) extend their winning streak to a season-high six games and remain atop the Northwest Division.
THIRD STAR -- SIDNEY CROSBY, C, PENGUINS
Crosby notched eight points (three goals, five assists) in three games, helping the Penguins (32-20-1) record victories over a pair of Atlantic Division foes.

Michael Peca Retires
Michael Peca, a two-time Selke Trophy winner, announced his official NHL retirement Tuesday, ending a 13-season career that was highlighted by an Olympic gold medal in 2002, according to an ESPN.com report.
Peca, who turns 36 in March, had 465 points and 798 penalty minutes in 864 regular-season games with Vancouver, Buffalo, the New York Islanders, Edmonton, Toronto and Columbus. His game was underlined by winning the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the NHL's top defensive forward in 1997 and 2002.
Langenbrunner Named U.S. Captain
Jamie Langenbrunner was named captain of the U.S. men's Olympic hockey team on Monday, according to an ESPN.com report.
The Devils captain is headed to his second Olympics after playing in Nagano in 1998.
"I'm honored to be given this position," Langenbrunner said on a media conference call. "There's plenty of leaders on this team. I'm not too worried about the leadership on this team at all."

Canucks left wing Alex Burrows, Ducks goaltender Jonas Hiller and Jackets goaltender Mathieu Garon have been named the NHL 'Three Stars' for the week ending January 10.
FIRST STAR -- ALEX BURROWS, LW, VANCOUVER CANUCKS
Burrows led all NHL scorers with seven points (six goals, one assist), highlighted by hat tricks in consecutive games, as the Canucks moved within one point of the Northwest Division lead.
SECOND STAR -- JONAS HILLER, G, ANAHEIM DUCKS
Hiller stopped 125 of 131 shots in posting a 4-0-0 record with a 1.50 goals-against average and.954 save percentage, helping the Ducks close within six points of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
THIRD STAR -- MATHIEU GARON, G, COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS
Garon went 3-0-0 with a 1.46 goals-against average, .940 save percentage and one shutout in four games, including three wins over a four-day period at the end of the week.
Avs' Duchene Named NHL Rookie Of The Month
Avalanche center Matt Duchene, who led all rookies in scoring with 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in 14 games, has been named the NHL Rookie of the Month for December.
Duchene edged Ducks right wing Dan Sexton, Devils right wing Nicklas Bergfors, Avalanche left wing T.J. Galiardi, Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers and Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard for the award.
